Ron Calhoun, 68, Casey County, KY (1946-2015)

He was a business owner, mechanic, and auto body repairman. Ron was a Grand National Champion Drag Racer. He loved boats, going fast, restoring old vehicles, and adventure. Ron enjoyed music, playing his guitar, and his grandchildren. He was a native of Cincincinnati, OH. He was the son of the late John Thomas and Beulah McQueary Calhoun. He leaves 19 direct living descendants.

Ron Calhoun passed away Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. He was 68.

Funeral services are 12pmCT/1pmET, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Ricky Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in South Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2015 from 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, at the funeral home.



Ron Calhoun, 68, Casey County, KY (1946-2015)


Born Wednesday, September 4, 1946 in Casey County, KY, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Beulah McQueary Calhoun. He died Thursday, January 29, 2018, in Cincinnati, Hamliton County, Ohio, at the age of 68 years, four months, and 25 days.

He was a business owner, mechanic, and auto body repairman. Ron was a Grand National Champion Drag Racer. He loved boats, going fast, restoring old vehicles, and adventure. Ron enjoyed music, playing his guitar, and his grandchildren. Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Rodney (and Kathy) Calhoun of Cincinnati, OH; Ohio and Steve (and Tonya) Calhoun of Liberty, KY

  • Two daughters: Ashley (and Jesse) Wethington of Liberty, KY; and Angela (and Timmy) Thomas of Liberty, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Fve great-grandchildren

  • A special friend: Louella Wyatt

  • Ex-wife: Olene Peyton

  • Four sisters: Illa Goodin, Charleen Garrison, and Sheila Brearton all of Indiana; and Neda Calhoun of Burlington, KY.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Calhoun.
