Pinkard and Farris lead LWC Track & Field at Findlay Classic Tylor Pinkard sits in third in the heptathlon and Amanda Farris earned a national "B" standard in the racewalk Click on headline for complete story By Charles Balcom News from Lindsey Wilson College FINDLAY, Ohio - The seven members of the Lindsey Wilson track and field team competing at the Findlay Classic all provided solid showings on the opening day of competition on Friday, January 23, 2015. Tylor Pinkard and Zac Gnadinger, both representing the Blue Raiders in the men's heptathlon event, competed in four of the seven events today, including the 60 meter dash, long jump, shot put and high jump. Pinkard finished third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.54 and Gnadinger was sixth at 7.76 seconds. In the high jump, Pinkard took fifth at 1.70 meters (5-07.00 feet), but Gnadinger was unable to record a height in the event. Pinkard added a fourth place in the long jump (5.87 meters; 19-03.25 feet) and a third place in the shot put (10.35 meters; 33-11.50 feet) as Gnadinger took sixth in the long jump (5.65 meters; 18-06.50 feet) and fifth in the shot put (9.83 meters; 32-03.00 feet). Pinkard currently sits in third place with 2,310 total points while Gnadinger is in eighth with 1,618 points. In the women's pole vault event, Rachel Wesley and Kassidi Taylor both broke the previous school record of 2.45 meters (8-0.50 feet) on their first attempts, a mark Wesley had previously set last season. Wesley and Taylor both achieved a height of 2.50 meters (8-02.50 feet) to finish tied for 10th place. In the women's 3,000 meter racewalk event, senior Amanda Farris earned a national "B" standard after finishing the race with a time of 17:02.70 in eighth place. Teammate Jourdann Green finished closely behind her in 10th place at 18:05.85. Hayden Sorrels, competing in his first ever 3,000 meter racewalk event, clocked in at 16:17.16 to finish eighth.
