Mr. Larry Dennis Strange, 69, Cumberland Co., KY (1945-2015)

He was a member of Pleasant Kentucky Ridge Church. He was the Owner of Larry Strange Trucking Company, co-owner of Libby’s Café and Strange’s Little Market for over 30 years and was a former employee of Wetterau Foods Distribution. He was a member of the Burkesville Masonic Lodge #413 F. and A. M., a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He was a native of Barren County, KY, and a resident of Greene County, IN, at the time of his death. He was the widower of Marie Elizabeth "Libby Spears." He leaves 11 direct living descendants, including a granddaughter on the way.

Mr. Larry Dennis Strange, age 69, of Bloomfield, Indiana and of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at his cabin on Jones Ridge in Cumberland County, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2pmCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 610 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Bro. Erin Raper officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Ridge Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends from 1pmCT, Sunday, January 25, 2015 until the funeral hour on Monday.



Mr. Larry Dennis Strange, 69, Cumberland Co., KY (1945-2015)


He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on Friday, September 21, 1945. He was the son of Commodore Alfred "C. A." and Josephine Booher Strange. He died on Friday, January 23, 2015 at his cabin on Jones Ridge in Cumberland County, Kentucky. He was 69 years, four months, and two days old.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Elizabeth "Libby" Spears Strange and his brother-in-law, Ralph Raper.

He is survived by the following:
  • His children, Barry Dennis (and Lisa) Strange of Bloomfield, Indiana; and Tonya Marie Fortner of Bedford, Indiana

  • His brother: Joe (and Diane) Strange of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • His sister: Wandalyn Raper of Bloomfield, Indiana

  • Six grandchildren: Seth (and Emily) Strange, Joshua Strange, Jordan (and Amanda) Strange, Shelby Fortner, Samuel Fortner, Silas Fortner

  • Two great-grandchildren: Hadley Strange, Hazel Strange

  • And one great-grandchild on the way: Emma Grace Strange
