Anna Parker Goforth O'Neal, Casey Co., KY (1918-2015)

She was a homemaker and a member of the House of Prayer Church on Calvary Ridge. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed witnessing to others. Ms. O'Neal loved to cook and sew. She was a native of Casey County, KY, the daughter of the late James Loganand Leona Watson Goforth. She leaves six direct living descendants.

Anna Parker Goforth O'Neal, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at her home in Decatur, Alabama. She was 96.

Funeral services are 2pmCT/4pmCT, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Wayne Naylor officiating. Ms. O'Neal will be laid to rest in Poplar Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from12pm-2pmCT/1pm-3pmET, at the funeral home.



Anna Parker Goforth O'Neal, Casey Co., KY (1918-2015)


Born Friday, June 7, 1918 in Casey County, KY, she was the daughter of the late James Logan and Leona Watson Goforth. She died Thursday, January 22, 2015, in Decatur, AL, at the age of 96 years, seven months, and 15 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the House of Prayer Church on Calvary Ridge. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed witnessing to others. Ms. O'Neal loved to cook and sew.

Survivors include a son:
  • Jim (and Linda) Townsend of Decatur, Alabama

  • Two grandsons: James Stephen (and Kathy) Townsend of Cincinnati, Ohio; and John David Townsend of Louisville, KY

  • Three great-granddaughters: Julia, Jessica, and Kristina

  • And a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two husbands, Ray Roberts and Frank O'Neal; four brothers, Ulyses , Raymond, Marcus, and Clifton Goforth; and five sisters, Marie Durham, Elvina Bastin, Clora Carmicle, Ethel Barnett, and Bonnie Durham.

The family wants to say a special thanks to Alacare Hospice of Decatur for their care, love and support.
