Crocus-the-flower-watch time has arrived

Billy Joe Fudge's article on the gentle falls of the West Fork of Crocus-the- Creek was a subtle reminder of neglect of the Crocus-the-Flower watches on Columbiamagazine.com.

Two years ago, we received a picture of Crocus above ground from Mr. Mike Watson, from his other home in Harrodsburg, KY, showing budding-not-yet-blooming crocus he and wife Renae, were enjoying on January 7, 2013.

The earliest Crocus a-blooming we found using a Google search of CM were way up in February, though there are vague mental memories or imaginings of January blooms.

Hope any who might spot Crocus in early bloom will let us know - perhaps by sharing a date stamped photo with us. - CM

2015-01-19 - Mercer Co., KY - Photo by Mike Watson.
