Adair Annex is open for those who need warm shelter

CJE Mike Stephens says shelter will remain open continuously until frigid weather is over. Individuals will need to bring own cots, sleeping bags, pillows etc., according to Gale Cowan, Adair CFO.

'By Larry Smith, FM 92.7 the WAVE

Adair County Judge Executive Mike Stephens has just announced that the Adair Annex, 424 Public Square, Columbia, KY, is now open for those who need shelter from the extreme frigid weather - the wind chill factor here at the station has been -4 degrees F. - or whose heat has failed.

We have had reports that some people in Adair County were having to be in their automobiles with the motors running to keep warm. The annex is open now and will remain open continuously as long as the cold spell lasts.

We'll keep you posted on the cold weather news on FM 92.7 the WAVE, 99.9 FM the Big Dawg, and ColumbiaMagazine.com including Go or No Go for schools. Larry Smith, Operations Manager, Shoreline Communications
