KSP E-town investigating pedestrian vs. unknown vehicle

Pedestrian, a 47-year-old mother walking with her juvenile daughter, struck by vehicle which did not stop. Mother pronounced dead at the scene by Grayson County Coroner's office. Incident occured early night of 5 Jan 2015. KSP Post 4 is investigating.

Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY

LEITCHFIELD, KY (Tue 6 Jan 2015) - Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtwon is investigating a single vehicle fatality accident involving a pedestrian victim.

On Monday, January 5, 2015, at approximately 7:56pmCT, Jackie Vincent Hayes (47) of Bee Spring, KY, was walking with her juvenile daughter, southbound on the northbound shoulder in the 7000 block of Anneta Road (KY 259).



An unknown vehicle traveling northb ound on Anneta Road struck Ms. Hayes and continued north without stopping.

Ms.Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later by the Grayson County Coroner's office.

There were no other injuries. KSP is investigating and reconstructing the crime scene.

KSP was assisted by the Grayson County Sheriff's Office, Leitchfield Police Department, Annneta Volunteer Fire Department, and Grayson County EMS.
