On December 31, 2014, CPD officers executed warrants for the arrest of 35 year old Brant Lane of Columbia charging him with 2 counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st degree (cocaine).

The arrest came after an investigation was initiated by CPD Det. Scholl who presented the cases before the Adair County Grand Jury.

Lane was also arrested on a warrant obtained by CPD Ofc. Johnny Dial for Theft of a Motor Vehicle. In September of 2014 Lane unlawfully took a 1998 Cadillac Deville from an Adair County female who was incarcerated at the time and sold it without her consent.

Lane was lodged in Adair County Regional Jail.
