The Blue Raiders are now 3-6 this season in duals, facing NCAA Division I or Division II institutions in all nine duals. Lindsey Wilson began the day with a six-point advantage after Shorter, who ranks No. 9 in NCAA Division II, elected to forfeit the opening match at 125 pounds. Felix Casa del Valle suffered a 14-5 major decision loss at 133 pounds that allowed the Hawks to cut into the Blue Raider lead at 6-4. Shorter took the lead at 7-6 after Colby Rhinehart defeated Paul Longshore at 141 pounds via a 6-1 decision. The Hawks increased the gap after Nate Galloway was able to hold off Isaac Thomas at 149 pounds with a 2-1 decision to build a 10-6 advantage. Lindsey Wilson was able to retake the lead at 12-10 after Joe Cozart pinned his opponent at 165 pounds. After the Blue Raiders took a medical forfeit at 165 pounds, Shorter forfeited the next two weight classes to give the Blue Raiders a 24-16 lead with just two matches remaining. Jake Maupin ended any hopes of a comeback by the Hawks after he pinned his opponent at 197 pounds to take a 30-16 advantage. Shorter captured the final points of the day after Andrew Ewers was able to defeat Chico Adams by a 7-4 mark in overtime, but it was too little too late as the Blue Raiders won 30-19.
