Boyd Lee Roy, 68, Boyle Co., KY, (1946-2014)

He was a native of Boyle County, KY and a resident of Hamilton County, Ohio at the time of his death. He was the son of Carlie Barber Roy and the late Everett Clay Roy. His wife, Brenda Lay Roy, survives. He leaves five direct living descendants.

Boyd Lee Roy, 68, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Visitation will be held at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Avenue, in Mt. Healthy, OH, on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 4pmET. until time of a prayer service at 8pmET.

Visitation at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Road, Liberty, KY is Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 3:30pm-7pmCT/4:30pm-8pmET
Funeral services are 12pmCT/1pmET, Friday, January 2, 2015 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Mack Ralph Lay officiating. Burial will follow in Caney Fork Cemetery.



Boyd Lee Roy, 68, Boyle Co., KY, (1946-2014)


Born April 9, 1946 in Boyle County, KY, he was the son of Carlie Barber Roy of Mintonville and the late Everett Clay Roy. He died Sunday, December 28, 2014, in Cincinnati, OH, at the age of 68 years, eight months, and 19 days.

In addition to his father, Mr. Roy was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Roy.

Other survivors include his beloved wife, Brenda Lay Roy of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the following:
  • Two sons: Boyd N. (and Christy) Roy and Bradley L. Roy both of Cincinnati, Ohio

  • Three grandchildren, Grace, Andrew, and Matthew Roy; brother, Robert (and Ethel) Roy of Yosemite, KY

  • Sister, Elaine (and Bobby) Atwood of Liberty, KY
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Cincinnati, 4360 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242 or Lung Cancer Foundation of American, 15 South Franklin Street, New Ulm, MN 56073.

Arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, in charge of arrangements.
