Brenda York Brown age 64 of Joelton, Tennessee formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Funeral service will be Friday, December 26, 2014 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Burkesville Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 12pm noon CT, until service time at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.


Brenda York Brown, 64, Cumberland Co., KY (1950-2014)


Brenda was born on Thursday, August 10, 1950 in Warren County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Sam Edd York and Margaret Green York. She died Saturday, December 20, 2014, Nashville, Davidson County, TN, at the age of 64 years, four months, and 10 days.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Marcus Smith, and one sister, Virginia Slavin.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Benny Brown of Joelton, TN

  • One son: Brian Brown and his wife Connie of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia

  • Three Sisters: Carol Clifton of Florida, Sue Tribble and Linda Williams both of Lebanon, TN

  • Four grandchildren: Jada Smith, Aurora Smith, Aeris Brown, and Dominic Brown
