Fugitive captured at residence off KY 92 in Adair Co., KY Escapee from Simpson County, KY, had been at large for over year and half. Columbia Police Department, acting on leads, locate fugitive at residence in SE Adair County, KY, and capture him following foot pursuit. He's now lodged in Adair County Regional Jail face two new Adair County charges in addition to original sentene and outstanding warrants in Russell County and Simpson County. Josh Brockman, Public Information Officer Columbia Police Department, Chief Jason Cross Columbia Police Department officers have locate and arrest state inmate who escaped custody over 18 months ago. On Friday, December 19, 2014, acting on information that had been developed, Sgt. Jr Murphy, Det. Brad Scholl, and Ofc. Charles Greer went to a residence off of KY 92 in Adair County to attempt to locate 26 year old Brandon Anthony Polk. Polk had been incarcerated as a state inmate on March 1, 2013, for various felony charges and was being held at Simpson County Jail. On May 24, 2013, he escaped custody and fled in a stolen truck owned by Franklin Public Works. Polk has been alluding Law Enforcement since that date. Upon arriving at residence and locating Polk he attempted to run. A foot pursuit ensued, Polk was caught and officers were able to take him into custody. Polk was charged with:
