Shamarie: A school photo floods a mother's heart 'I have kept every hand print they ever made me. Many of them hang on my bedroom wall and each night I think back to those small hands giving me such wonderful gifts from their heart and I give thanks that I have been allowed to be their mother.' -SHAMARIE CLAIBORNE Photo(s) accompany this essay. By Shamarie Claiborne Story from Adair County Primary Center My favorite picture of the day was taken at the Adair County Primary Center and is a close-up of the Christmas tree in their lobby. The children made all the decorations by hand and they were placed with such care. This particular shot flooded my heart and soul with memories of my boys when they were small and would make me the most wonderful things out of their hand prints. Their favorite thing was to make copies of their hands on the copy machine, but I have some with poems, and other are made into items such as these. I have kept every hand print they ever made me. Many of them hang on my bedroom wall and each night I think back to those small hands giving me such wonderful gifts from their heart and I give thanks that I have been allowed to be their mother. Those little hand prints mean so much, especially now, that they are grown and their hands swallow mine. So for all those who receive such a wonderful gift this year - cherish it - because one day that little hand will be grown. This story was posted on 2014-12-18 03:31:04
