Vicky Pike finds $2.11 gas in Elizabethtown, KY Victoria Pike writes: Several places in Elizabethtown were at $2.11 per gallon on the main drag near the mall as we came through last night. We might see under $2 soon at this rate. I predict before the end of the year.Vicky, thanks: Good news.Maybe one day it will get down to what it was in the Gas Wars on Dixie Highway. While we were paying War Prices of 32-32 cents a gallon in Columbia, with only about 19 outlets in a mile of the courthouse, we could sometimes regular gas for 16-17 cents on Dixie Highway. That's what we need now; a gas war like those of the late 1950s. - EW This story was posted on 2014-12-16 19:12:11
