Ms. Nola Lyda Prewitt Scott, Burkesville, KY (1926-2014)

She was a member of the Burkesville Church of Christ and a teacher of 39 years in the Cumberland County School System. She was a naive of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Ephraim David and Mary Irene Murcer Prewitt. She leaves one direct living descendants, a sister, several nieces and nephews, and many friends to mourn he passing

Ms. Nola Lyda Prewitt Scott, age 88, of Burkesville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11amCT, in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, Kentucky with Bro. Raymond Castillo officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. The family will receive friends after 12pmCT, on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 until the funeral hour on Thursday.

She was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Sunday, June 20, 1926, the daughter of Ephraim David and Mary Irene Murcer Prewitt. She died Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Burkesville, Cumberland County, Kentucky, at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 23 days.

She was a member of the Burkesville Church of Christ and a teacher of 39 years in the Cumberland County School System.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fletcher Prewitt, Earl Prewitt, William Prewitt and her sister, Regina Scott. <

She is survived by the following:
  • Her son: Richard Scott of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Her sister, Lois Coffey of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Her nephews: Danny Coffey, Daryl Coffey, Ricky Prewitt and Neal Prewitt

  • Her nieces: Ann Coffey Dahmer, Janie Suttle, Vickie Vincent and Jeanetta Vincent

  • And friends: Dr. Robert Flowers, Sr.; Christie Wray, Linda Keen and the employees of Cumberland Valley Manor
In lieu of flowers, contributions appreciated to the Liberty Cemetery Fund c/o Libby Norris, 2220 Celina Rd, Burkesville, Kentucky 42717. Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, Kentucky is honored to be in charge of funeral arrangements.
