News from Lindsey Wilson College

COLUMBIA, KY - Four members of the Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, the national office released on Friday, December 5, 2014.

Caio Da Cruz, Renan Serafim, Elijah Ukpong and Leander Zapheriou all received the award.

The four honorees match the most in program history in a single season. Lindsey Wilson also had four recipients of the award during the 2003 season.

It marks the second-straight season Serafim has received the honor. All four student-athletes also received Academic All Mid-South Conference honors earlier this year.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

A total of 413 student-athletes received the NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor this season.
