By Patty Jones, Principal
Adair County Primary Center

The Best-A-Thon at Adair County Primary Center, 158 Col. Casey Drive, Columbia, KY 42728, is in full swing this morning. We have students doing their best in a variety of venues that include sports, art, sculpture, dance, music, literature, drama, gymnastics, technology, games of skill, crafting, building and more.

Thanks to many family volunteers and the support of the Columbia Christian Church team, we are able to provide all of these areas for our students.

The purpose of today's event is to raise awareness of our students and their desire to have additional swings on the newly opened playground at ACPC. Students are requesting pledges and donations in return for them doing their best in their chosen field today at ACPC. Pledges of amounts per minute (each student is participating for 40 minutes) or a lump donation are welcomed. Our students have spoken and they want and wish for more swings. The total cost to have more installed will be approximately $7,500. Our goal is to raise $5,000 of it without having to sell items. In the past we have sold items such as food products, gift items, and even garbage bags. Many times we have parents and community members say they would just as soon make a donation as to buy items they may or may not need. So, we are putting that idea to task. Our students have given their best all day, along with our many volunteers. We hope their hard work will pay off in new swings this spring!!

If you don't have a child at ACPC or an acquaintance we encourage you to consider donating toward our playground fund. All donations are tax deductible and will be greatly appreciated by all staff and students at the school. For more information you may contact Patty Jones, Principal, or any employee or Rocket Booster member at 270-384-3367 or patty.jones@adair.kyschools.us.
