Five LWC Women's Soccer Athletes earn NAIA academic honors

Gloria Hensley, Emilia Jonsson, Megan Rauch, Elizabet Madjarac and Katarina Simic earned the award

By Charles Balcom
News from Lindsey Wilson College

COLUMBIA, KY - Five members of the Lindsey Wilson women's soccer program earned NAIA Scholar-Athelte honors, the national office announced on Friday, 28 Nov 2014. Gloria Hensley, Emilia Jonsson, Megan Rauch, Elizabet Madjarac and Katarina Simic all received the honor.

Simic earns the honor for the second-straight season. All five Blue Raiders earned Academic All Mid-South Conference honors earlier this season. The five Blue Raiders honored ties for the most in program history, matching the five honorees Lindsey Wilson achieved during the 1998 season.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor. The Blue Raiders accounted for five of the 578 student-athletes to receive the honor.
