Tuesday, November 18, 2014, the State Board of Elections certified vote totals from the November 4 General Election and issued certificates of election to candidates who received the highest number of votes.

Approximately 1.5 million Kentuckians, more than 46 percent of registered voters, cast ballots in the General Election, said Alison Lundergan Grimes, Kentucky's Chief Election Official.

Grimes also reconvened the Election Integrity Task Force, which she has expanded since taking office in 2012, to wrap up its work on the 2014 General Election. Leading up to and on Election Day, the State Board of Elections worked closely with other federal, state, and local officials and agencies to monitor the election and ensure that voters' rights were preserved.

Pursuant to Kentucky law, the Office of the Attorney General will randomly select six counties in which it will conduct a post-election audit. The drawing to select the counties that will be audited is scheduled for November 20, 2014, at 2pmET.

"Kentucky is at its best when everyone's voice is heard," said Grimes. "I'm grateful to all of the elected officials and thousands of citizens who worked hard to maintain the integrity of the November 4th election and the nearly 1.5 million Kentuckians who participated in our democracy by voting."

Detailed results from the election are available at www.elect.ky.gov.
