Pamela Farr: Very proud of our band

Personal commentary

By Pamela Farr

Even tho I do not have a child in school I am very proud of our band. My son and daughter in law were in band for the last 6 years of their school. If anyone thinks this is a sissy game they are wrong.

I admire our sports games, yet we need to give the band members the hooray for their countless hours of practing rentless hours in the heat and cold, late nights for ballgames and the parents that have supported them.

Many years ago - and that will tell my age - I waited many nights for our band to return from activities. They were rivals of Adair County, but that is okay.

It helps to teach discipline and character in their life, also helps to keep them out of trouble since they don't have much time for anything else.

So we need to be very proud of them We are not all cut out for all the same things , we don't have to be. That's one of the good things in living in a supposely free country. --Pamela Farr
