LWC Football moves up to No. 8 in latest NAIA Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson football team moved up two spots to No. 8 in the latest NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Monday, November 10, 2014.



The Blue Raiders received 245 total voting points from the panel of national raters. Lindsey Wilson (8-2, 5-0 MSC East) is coming off a 69-10 win over Bluefield (Va.) on Saturday in which the Blue Raiders scored five times through the air, four times on the ground and once on a defensive touchdown. Lindsey Wilson has outscored their opponent by a 240-41 margin over the past four games, averaging 60 points per contest in that stretch. Four other Mid-South Conference football teams join the Blue Raiders in the poll. Georgetown (KY) is fifth with 293 points while Faulkner (AL) fell six spots to No. 10 with 223 voting points. Campbellsville (KY) comes in at No. 19 with 106 points and Reinhardt (GA) is No. 22 with 62 points. Cumberland (TN.) sits one spot outside of the poll receiving 11 points. Morningside (Iowa) retained its No. 1 overall ranking as the only unbeaten team in the NAIA with 340 points and all 15 first-place votes. Carroll (MT) remained second with 327 points followed by Grand View (Iowa) at No. 3 with 313 points.
