'We're going to change the face of this town!' By Granddad, Ed Waggener Hailey is not yet 3 years old, but already she's a great orator. Wednesday morning, after she learned of her Mema's re-election to the Columbia City Council, November 4, 2014 general election, her mother reports that Hailey marched through the house announcing to all, "We're going to change the face of this town!" That was the extent of her first political speech, a performance she repeated many times, perfecting it. But we know she'll make many more, befitting one who's hometown is the home of the great Kentucky Governor, Martha Layne Collins. I can, without bias, nominate Hailey to lead the pledge of allegiance at a council meeting room nearby, and just hope she can be at her grandmother's 'swearing ceremony,' when that day comes. GRANDDAD, Ed Waggener. This story was posted on 2014-11-08 07:00:33
