Mrs. Jewell Burchett Myers, Cumberland Co., KY (1933-2014)

She was a member of Seminary United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Lizzie Pharis Burchett. Her husband of 66 years, William Henry "Bill" Myers, survives. She leave 29 direct living descendants.

Mrs. Jewell Burchett Myers, age 81, of the Seminary Community in Cumberland County, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at her residence in Cumberland County, Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 1pmCT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY, with Terry Shelley officiating. Burial will be in the Burchett Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT, on Saturday, November 8, 2014 until the funeral hour on Sunday.

She was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Monday, April 3, 1933, the daughter of Edward and Lizzie Pharis Burchett. She died Thursday, November 6, 2014, in Cumberland County, KY, at the ge of 81 years, seven month, and three days.

She was a member of Seminary United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Myers; her parents, her brothers, Everett Burchett, Frank Burchett and Odell Burchett; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Beulah and Jess Aaron and Marie and J. E. Willen. She is survived by her husband, William Henry “Bill” Myers of Burkesville, Kentucky, whom she married on Thursday, July 29, 1948, and the following:
  • Her children: Danny and Virginia Myers of Pall Mall, Tennessee; Patricia and Mark Shelley of Burkesville, Kentucky; Nancy and Charlie Sells of Alpine, Tennessee; Kathy and Timmy Riddle of Burkesville, Kentucky; Mary and Harvey Graves of Burkesville, Kentucky; and Billy Joe and Christy Myers of Burkesville, Kentucky

  • Her sisters-in-law: Betty Burchett of Glasgow, Kentucky and Marjorie Lindsey of Franklin, Kentucky

  • Her sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Minnie and Kay Appleby of Beaumont, Kentucky

  • Her grandchildren: Julie (Bart) Capps, Steven (Jill) Shelley, Terry (Valerie) Shelley, Stacy (Chelsie) Sells, Beth Sells, April (Shawn) Riddle, Amy (Michael) Sams, Travis Riddle, Andrea Graves, Trevor (Sarah) Graves, Candice Graves, Bryson Myers, Alena Myers and Candice Myers

  • And her great-grandchildren: James Capps, Clay Capps, Parker Shelley, Karma Shelley, Nichole Shelley, Colt Ryder Sells, Jacob Riddle and Patrick Riddle
