She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Metcalfe County, KY at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Henry Elbert and Nancy Price Munday, and the widow of William Taylor. She was the matriarch of a highly regarded family. She leaves 11 direct living descendants.

Lavelle Taylor, 88, of Edmonton, KY, formerly of Columbia, KY, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at 4:12pmCT, at T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 11amCT. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with burial to follow, in Haven Hill Cemetery, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 9:30amCT, Wednesday, November 5, 2014.




Lavelle Taylor, 88, Edmonton, KY (1926-2014)


She was born Thursday, May 27, 1926, in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Henry Elbert and Nancy Price Munday. She died Monday, November 3, 2014, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 88 years, five mnths, and seven days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Taylor on June 5, 1982, and a son, Daniel Taylor.

Survivors Include:
  • One son: Kevin Taylor of Columbia, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Shannon Taylor Strode, Sherri Taylor Coffey and Brandon Cornelison

  • Five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild
