News from Lindsey Wilson College

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College cheerleaders complemented their normal white and royal blue uniforms with a touch of pink while cheering at Saturday's LWC-Belhaven (MS) University football game Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Blue Raider Stadium, 928 Russell Road, Columbia, KY.

The cheerleaders were part of an effort across the Mid-South Conference to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The football players wore pink helmet stickers and coaching staff wore pink wrist bands.

The MSC partnered with the Finley Foundation for SIDS of Georgetown, KY; to raise awareness about best sleep practices and how SIDS can be prevented. SIDS is the leading cause of death among infants from ages 1-12 months, and it is the third leading cause of infant mortality in the United States.

Twelve MSC members participated in Saturday's inaugural Mid-South Conference SIDS Awareness Day, held in Kentucky and Tennessee. For more information about the Finley Foundation for SIDS go to: www.finley105.org
