Mary Joyce Lee, 79, Glasgow, KY (1935-2014)

She was a member of Branham Grove Baptist Church in Cumberland County and attended Gethsemane Baptist Church in Glasgow. She was a retired seamstress for Bob Evans. She was a native of Cumberland County and a resident at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Bedford and Nancy Holman Davidson and the widow of Wayvell Lee. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Mary Joyce Lee age 79 of Glasgow, Kentucky formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at her home.

Funeral services will be Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Branham Grove Cemetery. The family requests visitation 1pm-9pmCT. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Mary Joyce Lee, 79, Glasgow, KY (1935-2014)


Mary was born on Friday, April 19, 1935 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Bedford and Nancy Holman Davidson. She died Wednesday, October 22, 20-14, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 79 years, six months, and three days.

She was a member of Branham Grove Baptist Church in Cumberland County and attended Gethsemane Baptist Church in Glasgow.She was a retired seamstress for Bob Evans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wayvell Lee, three brothers, Howard Davidson, Arnold Davidson, and Edward Davidson, and three sisters, Bethine Carter, Sue Wilson, and Roxie Simpson.

Survivors include:
  • One son: Larry Lee and his wife Cheryl of Glasgow, KY

  • Two daughters: Becky Thacker and her friend Curt of Glasgow, KY and Susan Moon and her husband Jeff of Glasgow, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Daniel Tudor, Tyler Combs, Savannah Moon, and Grant Moon

  • Two brothers: Russell Davidson and his wife Marie of Louisville, KY, and Bobby Davidson and his wife Beatrice of Burkesville, KY

  • Two sisters: Marie Brake of Indianapolis, IN and Betty Ferree and her husband Marshall of New Castle, Indiana

  • Sisters-in-law: Runell Davidson of Glasgow, KY, Stella Davidson of Burkesville, KY, and Betty Davidson of Albany, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
