Jimmy Isenberg, Summer Shade, KY (1927-2014)

He was a native of Cave City, KY and a resident of Summer Shade, Metalfe County, KY at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Elzie and Donnie Proffitt Isenberg. His wife of 68 years, Joyce Payne Isenberg, survives. He leaves 12 direct living descendants. He was a barber for 22 years and a farmer. He was a member of the Christian Church of Summer Shade, and a Navy veteran.

James (Jimmy) Morris Isenberg, age 87, of Summer Shade, KY died October 14, 2014, at NHC in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 1pmCT, at the Summer Shade Christian Church, with Brother Bob Priest officiating, burial will follow in the Summer Shade Cemetery. Visitation was afte 4pmCT, Wed 15 Oct 2014, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, and Thursday, at the funeral home until 11amCT, and at the church until time of services.

He was born Friday, May 31, 1927, in Cave City, Barren County, KY. He was the son of to the late Elzie and Donnie Proffitt Isenberg. He died 14 Oct 2014, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 87 years, four months, and 14 days.

He was a barber for 22 years and a farmer. He was a member of the Christian Church of Summer Shade, and a Navy veteran.

He was married to Joyce Payne Isenberg, who survives, for 68 years; he is also survived by the the following:
  • Four sons: Larry Isenberg (Rosemary Morgan), Glasgow, KY; Donald (Phylis) Isenberg, Glasgow, KY; Terry (Christina) Isenberg, Summer Shade, KY; and Chris (Redonna) Isenberg, Summer Shade, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Erin, Courtney, Madison and Parker

  • and four great grandchildren: Colby, Oakley, Kailee, and Preslie.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Ward, Clarence and Cecil, and five sisters, Dorothy, Imogene, Arlene, Jessie, and Marie.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, in charge of arrangements.
