Officer Joe Pete Blakeman, age 58, of Greensburg, passed away on Wednesday at his home in Greensburg, KY.

The funeral services for Officer Joe Pete Blakeman will be conducted at 2pmCT, Sunday, October 19, 2014, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with committal service following at the Greensburg/Green County Fire Department and cremation to follow. Visitation is requested 2pm-8pmCT, Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service.


Mr. Blakeman was a member of the Greensburg City Police Force and the Greensburg-Green County Fire & Rescue Department.

He is survived by his wife Daisey Blakeman of Greensburg, KY, and the following:
  • Three sons: Joshua Blakeman, Justin Blakeman, and Jeremy Blakeman, all of Lexington, KY

  • Two step-children: Jack Harsch of Greensburg, KY, and Rebecca Harsch of Florida

  • His mother: Pat Blakeman of Greensburg, KY

  • Three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Virginia Ann Judd of Greensburg, KY; Libby & Todd Cissell of Campbellsville, KY; and Tracy & Wes Clark of Greensburg, KY

  • His mother-in-law: Ramona Santiago of Florida
Memorials are suggested to the Greensburg/Green County Fire & Rescue Building Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
