Donnie Coffey: Take a harder look at situation with roads safety

Comments re photo 57090 Granddad Polston Advocating for SAFE Adair County Roads

Donnie Coffey writes:
I believe the county road department needs to look harder at this situation and other requests the people bring before the court and take their snickers and nasty remarks somewhere else outside of a official meeting. Where did all the funds for county roads go? I haven't seen much work at all this year anywhere! - Donnie Coffey
Thanks. First, totally disagree with you on the road money. We've never, ever gotten so much benefit for county road dollars. But, Mr. Coffey, I totally agree with you on taking the concerns Mr. Polston and his daughter present to heart, which the court appears to be doing.

The transformation of the road department has seen more accomplishments in the roads in Adair County than in all previous administrations before it, put together.

It's not totally, absolutely perfect yet, but anyone wants to see it go back to old days hasn't done the arithmetic.

It's not perfect, but it's getting there. Ann, Sammy Baker, and Perry Reeder all want Safer County Roads.

There's no valid reason for reverting to the old spoils system in roads. That's a big issue in the coming election. And we hope all candidates for county office tell how the will improve on the advances made, not take the county backward. - EW
