The conference award is the second of the season for Pahkasalo and third Defensive Player of the Week honor for Hawes. The Blue Raiders were victorious in their lone game during the week, a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Cumberland (TN) on October 8, 2014. After falling behind in the 10th minute due to an own goal, Pahkasalo found the equalizer on a free kick from 40 yards out. The Vantaa, Finland, native rifled a ball past the defensive wall that sailed into the top-left corner for the 1-1 tie. Caio Da Cruz would later score the game-winner in the 85th minute for the Blue Raiders. Pahkasalo's goal was his team-leading sixth of the season to go along with his four assists and 16 total points on the year. Hawes made one save, allowing the lone own goal in the win. He has four shutouts on the season which leads the Mid-South and has 28 saves. His .860 goals against per game is 27th in the NAIA. The duo previously swept the weekly awards on September 8, 2014, with Hawes earning his first-career honor on September 1, 2014. This story was posted on 2014-10-13 15:40:23
