James Leon Meece, Sr., 77, of Russell Springs, died Friday October 10, 2014 at his home.

Funeral service for James Leon Meece, Sr. will be 1pmCT, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Ken Hawes officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, at Bernard Funeral Home. Burial will be in the in the White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, Indiana at 2pmCT, Wednesday, October 15, 2014



James Leon Meece, Sr., 77, Russell County, KY (1937-2014)


He was born September 20, 1937 in Harriman, Roane County, TN. He was the son of the late Grady & Mary Susan Foley Meece. He died Friday, October 10, 2014 at his home in Russell Springs, KY, at the age of 77 years and 29 days.

He was retired from General Motors and was a member of New Victory Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by a grandaughter, Micaela.

He is survived by his wife: Barbara Jean Meece, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Five children: Candy Lynn Meece, Campbellsville, KY; Cindy Beth (George) Hargrove, Morristown, IN; Carmen Marie (Ken) Hawes, Beaver, WV; James (Melissa) Meece, Jr., Nashville, IN; and Dan (Victoria) Meece, Plattsmouth, Nebraska

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Twelve great grandchildren

  • Two brothers: Bill Green and John Green, both of Russell Springs, KY
