Adair School Board approves 2014-2015 working budget October School Board meeting changed, too. Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Ed Waggener The Adair County Board of Education met in a brief session at 8:30amCT, 30 Sep 2014, to approve a working budget for 2014-2015, and to approve a Race to the Top paid trip for Superintendents in Salt Lake City, and to approve the 2015 Dental and Eye Care Contracts. The board approved a working budget for Fiscal year 2015 anticipating $28,352,589.29 revenues and an equal amount of expenditures for the year. The revenue is slightly less than the $28.453, 539.93 actually received and is slightly over what was spent, $25,700,764.67 in FY 2014. Board approves trip to Salt Lake City by Superintendent The board unanimously approved an out-of-state with other GRREC (Green River Region Educational Cooperative) superintendents to Salt Lake City, Utah, to tour innovative schools as a requirement of Race to the Top Grant, for Supt. Alan Reed. The trip is paid for with Race to the Top Funds and will not require any Adair County School District funding. The vote was 5-0 on a motion by Member Mike Harris (Div 5), seconded by Greg Willis (1), with Chairman Floyd Burton (5), Quin Lasley (2), and Joseph Payne joining in the affirmative. Board retains Dental and Eye Care Contracts The board voted to continue its contract with contract for Dental and Eye insurance with the same firm and at the same rate as in FY 2014. The vote was 5-0.
