Nelda Virginia Cash, 81, Burkesville, KY (1933-2014)

She was a native of Cumberland County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Carter and Minnie Wray Carter. Her husband, Ralph Arden Cash, survives. She leaves nine direct, one expected, and three step living descendants. She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nelda Virginia Cash age 81 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 03, 2014 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main ST, Burkesville, KY with Bro. Steve Gipson officiating. Burial will be in Burkesville Cemetery, N Main Street, Burkesville, KY. The family requests visitation on 5pmCT-9pmCT, Thursday, October 02, 2014, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville.



Nelda Virginia Cash, 81, Burkesville, KY (1933-2014)


She was born on Wednesday, February 22, 1933 in Cumberland County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Carter and Minnie Wray Carter. She died Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 81 years, seven months, and 8 days. She was united in marriage to Ralph Arden Cash in Clinton County, KY on October 08, 1952.

She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, John Sam Carter, James Carter, Roy Carter, Oscar Carter, Jr., Lewis Carter, and C.A. Carter; three sisters, Madie Lee, Katherine Smith, and Wray Smithson; and one granddaughter, Amanda Jo Garmon.

Survivors Include her husband, Ralph Arden Cash of Burkesville, KY, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Valerie Stevenson and her husband Tim and Lisa Garmon and her husband Stevie, all of Burkesville, KY

  • One sister- Minnie Thurman of Gas City, Indiana

  • Two brothers: Lonnie Carter and his wife Betty of Burkesville, KY; and Homer Carter and his wife Francis of Smiths Grove, Kentucky

  • Sister-in-law: Inez Carter of Glasgow, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Tina Watson, Jeremy Garmon and his wife Haley, Cody Garmon and his wife Jessica, and Kaylea Garmon

  • Two step grandchildren: Samantha and Abby Stevenson

  • Three great grandchildren: Kaleb Watson, Kaden Watson, and Hadley Garmon

  • One step great grandchild: Charlotte Akin

  • And one expected grandchild
