Phillip Wayne Burks, 71, of Russell Springs, died Monday, September 29, 2014 at his home.

Funeral service for Phillip Wayne Burks will be 11amCT, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Bethesda Community Fellowship Church with Bro. Billy Dunbar officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at the church. Burial in the Rexroat Cemetery.

He was born Monday, January 11, 1943 in Livingston, Overton County, TN. He was the son of the late Jesse & Evie McClain Burks. He died Monday, September 29, 2014, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 71 years, eight months, and 18 days.

He worked in maintenance at Fruit of the Loom and attended Bethesda Community Fellowship Church.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Jean Burks, Russell Springs, KY, and the following:
  • Four children: David Burks, Franklin, IN; Kevin Wayne Burks, Russell Springs, KY; Mary Burks, Franklin, IN; and Laura Campbell, Russell Springs, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • Two great grandchildren

  • One sister: Lorene Randolph, Franklin, IN
