KY 2014-2020 Highway Plan outlines 2 projects for Adair Co. Lighting at Louie B. Nunn & KY 61 scheduled for design phase in 2016, and, also in the six year plan, passing/truck lanes for KY 55 N from Columbia Bypass to Campbellsville Bypass in Adair and Taylor Counties. Eastern Bypass still not in six-year plan By Amber Hale, Public Information Offier KY Transportation Cabinet, District 8, Somerset, KY The first project listed in the six year highway plan is that for interchange lighting at the Louie B. Nunn Parkway and KY 61 interchange. According to the highway plan funding for this project will be from the Federal National Highway System Funds. The design phase for the lighting project is scheduled to begin next year with construction to occur the following year, 2016, according to the state's highway plan. Adair and Taylor County will both benefit from the second project listed with the adding of passing lanes/truck lanes from the Columbia Bypass to the Campbellsville Bypass (Heartland Parkway). The rehabilitation of KY 55 will occur between mile points 15.101 to 21.305 and again between mile points 0 to 7.723. According to the six year plan design phase should occur next year with right-of-way taking place in 2016, utility work in 2017 and the construction phase of this project occurring in year 2019. This project is listed as a State Construction High Priority Project. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet would like to remind everyone that projects, funding and dates listed in the six year plan is an outline and are subject to change. - Amber Hale This story was posted on 2014-09-23 14:01:52
