Dale Miller, Taylor County, KY (1929-2014)

He was a native of Green County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County, KY, at the time of his death.He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Hogards Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was a retired appliance salesman having worked at Henry Durham and Son, Crabtree Firestone Store and Noe and Ratcliffe. He was the son of the late Russell and Iva Murrell Miller. His wife of over 61 years, Dorene Dowell Miller, survives. He leaves 15 direct living descendants.

Dale Miller, age 84, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 10:45pmET, Friday, September 19, 2014 in Lebanon, KY.

The funeral service will be at 10amCT/11amET, Monday, 22 Sep 2014 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Montie Fugate and Rev. Earl West. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old US 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, 21 Sep 2014, at the funeral home.



Pallbearers: Grant Bays, Paul Benskin, Bobby Fisher, Michael Newton, Jamie Smith, and Jeremy Smith.

Dale Miller was the son of the late Russell Miller and Iva Murrell Miller. He was born Saturday, 9 Nov 1929, in Green County, Kentucky. He died Friday, 19 Sep 2014, in Lebanon, Marion County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 10 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Hogards Chapel United Methodist Church.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.

He was a retired appliance salesman having worked at Henry Durham and Son, Crabtree Firestone Store and Noe and Ratcliffe.

He united in marriage to Dorene Dowell, March 22, 1953.
  • Two daughters: Ann Moss and husband, George of Campbellsville, KY; and Pat Hartman and husband, Bill of Hanover, Indiana

  • Five grandchildren: Jeremy Smith and wife; Lisa, Jamie Smith and wife, Trena, Amanda Wilson, Megan Bays and Grant Bays all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eight great-grandchildren: Payton Reynolds, Wesley Reynolds, Avery Smith, Blaine Smith, Owen Smith, Olivia Smith, Lily Kate Smith and Kyler Wilson

  • One brother and one sister: Deston Miller and wife, Gloria of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Mary Lynn Netherland of Austin, Texas

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
