Irene Compton Pickett, age 81 years of Louisville, KY formerly of Scottsville, KY and Columbia, KY passed away September 15, 2014 in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11pmCT/12 noon ET, at the Cloverleaf Baptist Church 4401 Manslick Road, Louisville, KY. Visiting will be on Wednesday from 12pm noon - 7pmCT/1pm-8pmET, at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. Burial will be in the Orr Cemetery in Green County, KY



She was the daughter of the late Walter and Birbie Jane England Compton of Adair County, KY.

She was the widow of L.C. Pickett.

She is survived by the following:
  • One son: Ricky Pickett & wife Donna

  • Two daughters: Vicki L. Gorth and husband Ron and Rhonda Bratcher and husband Stan

  • Nine grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren
She was a member of the Scottsville Baptist Church and attended the Cloverleaf Acres Baptist Church, she was retired from Mother's Cookies.

She was preceded in death by these siblings: Coby Wallace Compton, Clayton Compton, Clinton Compton, Jimmy Compton, Margaret Jessie, Edna Sexton, Beatrice Gowen, Mildred Lee Moore, Nina Jessie, and Ruby Dial.
