No. 22 LWC Volleyball opens MSC play at Shawnee State Tonight Blue Raiders attempt to extend a pair of streaks By: Matthew Stokes COLUMBIA, Ky. - The No. 22 Lindsey Wilson volleyball team squares off against host Shawnee State (Ohio) tonight in the Mid-South Conference opener for both teams. First serve is set for 5 p.m. CT at the Frank and Janis Waller Gymnasium in Portsmouth, Ohio. The Blue Raiders (11-2) are the winners of their past seven matches, including a perfect 4-0 mark at the Faulkner Invitational last weekend. Dating back to the 2012 season, Lindsey Wilson has won its past 19 MSC matches, which includes an 18-0 conference record last year. In 2014, the Blue Raiders are holding opponents to an attacking percentage of .110. For Lindsey Wilson, Makenzie Montano paces the team with 366 assists and Kirsten King has a team-best 150 digs. Catie Cline has a team-high .336 hitting percentage and Nadelina Nesheva leads all Blue Raider players with 115 kills. The Bears (7-3) are 4-1 on their home court this season and have won three straight contests. Madison Smith tops all Shawnee State players with 214 digs and Devan Scarberry paces the group with 184 assists. Paige Zelich leads the Bears with 96 kills.
