Man tasered, arrested after brandishing knife at arresting officer

Several additional charges are pending

Columbia Man arrested after refusing to leave residence and pulling knife on responding officers.

Columbia Police Officers responded to the 200 block of Fairground Street to a complaint of an unwanted male subject who was refusing to leave the residence.



Upon arrival officers came into contact with 57 year old Kevin West. West was still refusing to leave with officers and stood up from a seated position and pulled a knife. Ofc. Jamie Cole was able to get into a position where he could safely deploy a taser. The taser was successful in bringing West into compliance with officers and he was took into custody without any injury.

West has been lodged in Adair County Regional on charges of menacing, wanton endangerment 1st degree 2 counts, and resisting arrest.
