Patient safely removed from ambulance destroyed by fire Yellow ambulance, owned by Louisville firm, was taking patient to Summit Manor in Columbia, KY Click on headline for item with photo(s) By Donald Hare, Public Information Officer Columbia Fire Department The Columbia Fire Department responded to an ambulance fire Friday morning, September 5, 2014, at 12:57amCT, at Summit Manor Nursing Home 400 Bomar Heights. The ambulance was taking a patient to the nursing home when fire was discovered. The patient was removed safely and ambulance was destroyed by fire. The owner of the ambulance was Yellow Ambulance from Louisville. There were 11 firemen on the scene for 1.5 hours. This story was posted on 2014-09-05 05:08:53
