Mother in missing child case in Green might face charges

Chelsea Stark, of 1020 Union Church Road in northern Green County, KY, the mother of the 2 year old who was found this morning after a massive search last night and this morning, might face charges, but that would be up to Child Protective Services, according to Green County Sheriff Robbie Beard.

The child, who was found wet and cold this morning, was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY for observation. It was expected that she will be in the custody of state Child Protective Services after her release from the hospital and the case will be handled by Child Protective Services.

The two year old child had wandered 1.5 miles away from her residence and was found in a area that had been recently logged.

The search for the toddler by lawmen and first responders took over 12 hours, ending at 8amCT this morning. The call to authorities was logged at 7:55pmCT, Wednesday evening, Sheriff Beard said. There were units from Green County, Taylor County, Adair County, LaRue County, and even Knox County, over 100 miles away, An agent of the FBI was also on the scene, Sheriff Beard said.
