Ralph Waggener recalls, with reader prompt, 'The Parrot House'

Ralph Roy Waggener writes:
Thinks Lee Ann, so many places I have missed. As soon as Ed or many others bring up places like Doc Murphy and the "Parrot House" on the corner, I remember! I hope to see more people add to the list of businesses or good stories of Columbians past gone by and their stories.

Later I would like to put all this In a book and would like permission to use what is sent in. The proceeds from this book would go to help Columbia/Adair County be a better place for all of us. I have thought that it could help fund our schools to buy products that they could buy cheaper by not going through the Kentucky State Education Department and buy local. The control over the purse strings by the state education dept have gotten out of hand, they are required to buy through Co-op even when the product is inferior or even much higher. Thinks - Ralph Roy Waggener

PS - If anyone has a better idea I will be open to it. - RRW
