Click on headline for complete story with first day standings chart By Chris Wells COLUMBIA, KY -- Following the lead of the men's golf teams, the Lindsey Wilson and Campbellsville (KY) women's golf programs competed for the first time in the President's Cup matches today at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson. The Tigers seized control of the inaugural event by winning three of the four matches to take a 3-1 lead into Sunday's seven singles matches. Campbellsville also leads the stroke-play event - played concurrently with the match-play event - following an opening round team-total of 317. Lindsey Wilson sits eight strokes off the Tigers' pace with a 325. The Tigers managed a pair of 2 & 1 wins in the better ball format and a 4 & 3 win for their three points. The matches consisted of three two-woman teams where each player plays her own ball and the team takes the lower of their two scores (the better ball, in other words) to count as the team's score. Lindsey Wilson's Amy Brown provided the lone Blue Raider point with a 7 & 6 singles win over Kellimae Polston. A trio of Tigers posted 8-over par 79s today to share the lead in the stroke-play event. Anna-Marie Hyatt, Olivia Parrott and Mikayla Smith all lead a trio of players one shot back. Lindsey Wilson's Shayna Cockrill and Kayla Cordeiro and Campbellsville's Taylor Phelps - who all carded 9-over par 80s.
