About one hour ago, an accident involving Campbellsville Fire Department's new ladder truck, resulted in power outages on Main Street, and much of Taylor County and Green County are affected. I am told that the downed main transmission line from the KU substation also feeds some operations of Taylor County RECC, but have no confirmation on that.

We are waiting for confirmation, but early word is that a first responder has been airlifted to UL. We are awaiting a statement from officials.

The Big Dawg was temporarily off the air, but our engineers have us one the air with a temporary use of some of our sister station, WAVE's equipment. I'll keep you posted as best I can through FM 92.7 and FM 99.9 Radio, and on ColumbiaMagazine.com - Larry. More in a moment.

The scene at Finley Stadium after ladder truck failure

2014-08-21 - Finley Stadium - Photo iPhone photo by Larry Smith. This was the scene at Finley Stadium after what was an apparently failure of Campbellsville Fire Department's Ladder Truck (similar to Columbia's Ladder One) fell on a main transmission line and caused power outages in much of Campbellsville, including the Big Dawg's Studio at 101 Main Street. We're still piecing the story together, but I have word that power is off in much of Green County as well as Taylor. - Larry Smith, FM 92.7 the WAVE and FM 99.9 the Big Dawg
