Taylor County man arrested on charges stemming from burglary in May, 2014 Information from Taylor County Sheriff's Department Campbellsville, KY A Taylor County, KY, man was arrested in Casey County today,, Sunday, August 17, 2014, on a warrant from Taylor County which chargec him with receiving stolen property, a firearm, and possesion of a handgun by a convicted felon. Robert Philpot, 41, Campbellsville, KY, was lodged in the Casey County Detention Center in Liberty, KY, and will be transported back to Taylor County for his arraignment. The case follows the investigation of a burglary on Liberty Road in Taylor County, by the Taylor County Sheiff's Office on May 23, 2014, in which a .45 caliber handgun was taken. On July 10, 2014, an individual contacted the Taylor County Sheriff's Office to report he may have knowledge about the stolen firearm. After an investigation, the TCSO says, it was found that Robert Philpott had sold the handgun which matched the description of the handgun which had been stolen in the burglary to an individual residing in Taylor County. After contacting the buyer of the handgun, the TCSO determined that the buyer had purchased the stolen handgun from Robert Phillpot. The evidence from the case was turned over to the Taylor County Attorney's Office and a warrant for Philpott was requested, which was executed in Casey County, resulting in the arrest and incarceraton of the suspect.
