CU faculty members tour and perform in Korea Click on headline for article with photo(s) By Joan C. McKinney CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Four Campbellsville University professors recently toured and performed in Korea on an 11-day tour that included 20 performances at universities, churches, high schools, and city venues in and around Busan, South Korea. Those on the trip were: Dr. Chad Floyd, associate professor of music; Dr. Bill Budai, associate professor of piano and associate dean of the School of Music; Saulo DeAlmeida, instructor in music; Denis Santos, adjunct instructor in music; and Wansoo Cho, former instructor in the School of Music. All performances were in Busan, South Korea, except at Maum Hyang Gi hospital, and included the famed Busan Cultural Center, Busan City Park, Sae-Woo-Ri Concert Hall, So-Min Arts Center, Shin-Se-Gae Concert Hall, Busan Medical City, Christian Business Men's Committee, Space-UM Gallery, Busan Foreign Language High School, Sam-Sung Girls' High School, Ever Green Seniors' School, Dong-Eun Presbyterian Church, Suk-Po Presbyterian Church, Ae-Kwang Presbyterian Church and Dong-Nae Central Presbyterian Church. The group performed for diverse audiences and was also able to provide feedback and instruction on student performances in various educational settings. The repertoire of the group is quite diverse, but can be classified broadly as jazz with strong influences of the popular Brazilian musical styles such as samba and bossa nova. - Joan C. McKinney, Campbellsville University This story was posted on 2014-08-17 09:34:19
