Lewis Arnold Meeks, Casey County, KY (d. Aug. 8, 2014)

He was a Retired E-8 Senior Chief, Lewis A. Meeks, proudly served his country in the United States Navy from October 15, 1959 to April 30, 1981 and retired as GS-13 Civil Service in November 2000. His devoted wife of 54 years, Gearldine Meeks, survives. He leaves 14 direct living descendants.

Lewis Arnold Meeks, 73, of Harrodsburg, KY originally from Casey County, left this world in peace August 8, 2014.

Visitation will be held after 5pmCT/6pmET, Monday, August 11, 2014, with Funeral Services at 1pmCT/2pmET, Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Derrek Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Tapscott Cemetery with Military Honors.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Lewis Meeks and Hollis Patterson Meeks, his sister, Mayreen and Fayreen Meeks, Lela Nolde, Louise Simpson, his brothers, Carlos, Vernon, Victor, Robert and Bill P Meeks He is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-four years Gearldine Meeks of Harrodsburg, KY and the following:
  • His four children: Dwayne Meeks of Junction City, KY; Bruce Meeks of Harrodsburg, KY; Mark Meeks of Science Hill, KY; and Patricia Fletcher of Franklin, TN

  • His six grandchildren: Tony, Benjamin and Mariah Meeks of Somerset, Jimmy and Kelsea Fletcher of Franklin, TN and Ross Meeks of Harrodsburg, KY

  • His great-grandchildren, Elijah, Weston, Gracelyn and Aria Meeks.
He was a Retired E-8 Senior Chief, Lewis A. Meeks, proudly served his country in the United States Navey from October 15, 1959 to April 30, 1981 and retired as GS-13 Civil Service in November 2000. "Well Done". Send a condolence to the family of Lewis Arnold Meeks
