By Tammy Stotts and Jennifer Carter COLUMBIA, KY (Monday, August 4, 2014, at 2:23pmCT) - Stotts Construction Co., Inc. will be working overnight tonight Monday, August 4, 2014 in Columbia KY to disconnect part of the old waterlines and connect to the new waterlines beginning at 9pmCT. While the lines are being switched, one-fourth of the downtown Square area will not have water service. Stotts Construction will be working overnight so that normal business for the downtown area is not interrupted. Parts of Adams Alley and South Reed Street are now closed in preparation for the work. The 100 block of South Reed Street at the intersection of Jamestown Street and South Reed Street, as well as the 100 block of West Adams Alley from North Monroe Street to Campbellsville Street are closed through Tuesday August 5 at Noon. We ask the public to avoid these areas where possible and to expect some delays in traffic. We want to thank you in advance for your patience as we make these necessary upgrades to better serve you our customers with better quality water service. We will keep you updated of construction and street closings as construction progresses. –Tammy Stotts, Stotts Construction Co.
