Cumberland County pursuit leads to arrest

Chase began on KY 90, continued south on KY 61 where KSP Sgt. Kevin Hunt terminated pursuit at Tennessee State line and notified Tennessee authorities, who located crashed vehicle. Driver walked back to Kentucky, was located and arrested, lodged in Adair County Regional Jail

BURKESVILLE, KY - 29-year-old Darren Alan Weigleb, of Tompkinsville, KY, has been arrested and charged with Speeding, Failure to Produce Insurance Card, Failure to Notify Address Change to D.O.T., Failure to or Improper Signal, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, Reckless Driving, No Operator’s License and DUI 1st Offense/Aggravated.



He was arrested on Friday, July 18, 2014, after KSP Sgt. Kevin Hunt observed Weigleb operating a motor vehicle, weaving in and out of traffic on KY 90. When Sgt. Hunt initiated the traffic stop, Weigleb fled south on KY 61 and into Tennessee. Sgt. Hunt terminated the pursuit but was quickly notified by Tennessee law enforcement that the vehicle pursued was found abandoned just inside the Tennessee state line. Weigleb had begun walking and came back into KY where he was located and arrested by Sgt. Hunt. Weigleb was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
