LWC Swimming Teams, Individuals earn CSCAA Academic Honors Seven Blue Raiders earned the CSCAA Individual Scholar All-American Award. Jonathan Hindman, Iker Larzabal, Ryan Leamy, Luke Royal and Sam Tate earned the individual honor for the men while Kelsey Marshall and Elena Nikolaeva earned the individual honor for the women. Click on headline for complete story By Chris Wells COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College men and women's swimming teams and seven individuals have earned College Swimming Coaches Association of America's scholar All American honors for the 2013-14 spring semester, CSCAA officials recently announced. The Blue Raiders received the award based on reaching the CSCAA requirements of achieving a team cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Lindsey Wilson men's swimming amassed a 3.35 GPA while the women's swimming team produced a 3.38 team GPA during the spring semester. The men's GPA was the top in the NAIA while the women's GPA was third best. In addition to earning the CSCAA academic honor, the Blue Raider men and women also earned the NAIA Scholar Team honor after posting a 3.16 and a 3.43 GPA respectively for the 2013-14 academic year. Seven Blue Raiders earned the CSCAA Individual Scholar All-American Award. Jonathan Hindman, Iker Larzabal, Ryan Leamy, Luke Royal and Sam Tate earned the individual honor for the men while Kelsey Marshall and Elena Nikolaeva earned the individual honor for the women. The individual honor is reserved for those student-athletes achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the academic term and having qualified for and competed at the NAIA Championship. The Lindsey Wilson women finished 10th at the NAIA Championships in early March while the men posted a 12th place finish to conclude a successful 2013-14 season.
